The record is characterised by its introspective and nostalgic tone, drawing inspiration from various historical jazz styles. The album blends original compositions with unique arrangements of jazz standards, featuring influences from wartime jazz, Cuban boleros, Boogie Woogie, and Harlem stride. It was recorded by Evan Pope at 11B Studio in Mt Maunganui, New Zealand and released on the 1st May 2020. A limited edition 12” vinyl LP was released to commemorate the album's 5th anniversary, featuring artwork by Nigel Brown.
